HST Advisory Board
The Advisory board is a mandatory part of the CTE experience. One must be able to form an advisory board for each and every cluster that is active in one's district along with a district level board that is served by representative members of the various local clusters. Dr. Wright has formed and staffed an advisory board made of various stakeholders in the healthcare industry.
Advisory Board Makeup: 1) practicing physicians and doctors (MD, DC, DDS), 2) hospital administrative and clinical personnel 3) Dallas County Health and Human Services personnel, 4) practicing therapeutic practitioners (PT, SLT), 5) parents, 6) students, 7) school district personnel (CTE Coordinator, and 8) School personnel (Asst. Principal, Counselor, Special Education Representative, & HST teachers).
Advisory Board Duties: 1) ensure alignment between curriculum and real world needs, 2) ensure alignment between offered certification and industry standards, 3) ensure alignment between student abilities and internship expectations, and 4) invite new members that will allow for additional diversity of the board.
